On this 8 Days 7 Nights Guided Safari you will Track the Great wildebeest in Northern Serengeti Mara Rive Crossing, The wildebeest migration river crossing beginning July, moves north and passes through the Lobo and the Wagakuria area en-route to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. In September, the wildebeest herds are spread out over the northern Serengeti National Park and Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. Several large herds of wildebeest remain behind in the area and weather changes may sometimes bring the herds back into the area from the Mara. In October, the herds move south towards the central Serengeti National Park via the Lobo area of the Serengeti National Park.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your Professional Safari Guide will come at 8:00 am and pick up from your hotel at Arusha. With everyone aboard, you will head towards Tarangire National Park. The 120 Km drive will be covered in about 2-3hrs. The park is famous for its diverse landscape and nine different vegetation zones. As you begin your game drive, you will be welcomed by the ancient and gigantic Baobab trees, which make even animals like the giraffe look tiny.

The game drive goes on till about late afternoon and includes a small stop for a picnic lunch. The 3,000 Sq Kms Park gets its name from the Tarangire River that flows through it. The river attracts a lot of diverse animals and you should be able to spot a lot of elephants, giraffe, lions, antelopes and zebra. If it’s your lucky day, you might be able to spot the tree climbing python and the long necked Gerek. The Tarangire National Park has the highest concentration of elephants, which offers a unique chance for you to observe interactions between elephant families. Don’t forget to capture this beautiful scenery with your camera ready at hand. Post the game drive, you will head back to your camp/lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you. Have good night’s sleep for tomorrow's adventure.

Day 2: Tarangire Area to Serengeti National Park

Earlier in the morning after breakfast you will be picked up from the lodge and Drive to Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu then Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa - the endless of Serengeti National park, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti's species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park.

Day 3: Central Serengeti to North Serengeti

After Breakfast you will depart to morning game drive in the central portion of the Serengeti National Park today and move towards the northern part of the park. The en-route game drive towards the Kogatende region will offer mild action from resident game. As you approach the northern part of the Serengeti, you will notice the terrain change from the usual plain grassland to a more hilly and broken terrain. The northern region offers a variety of resident game such zebras, topi, gazelle, buffaloes, leopards and lions. A picnic lunch will be done during the day long drive itself. Based on the time of your arrival you will able to spend a few hours by the Mara River. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.

Day 4: Full Game Drive in Northern Serengeti

After Breakfast you will depart for full day game drives in northern Serengeti towards the mara River which is famous for River Crossing Safari In the months between mid-june to September the migration can be found in this region. From mid-June to September, the Mara River in this region offers the most dramatic river crossing of the great migration. Fierce, deep and heavily rain fed the river takes an enormous toll on the migrating wildebeest. Watching the wildebeest surging through the torrential flow, some drowning and a few falling prey to lurking crocodiles is an unforgettable sight. If it’s your lucky day you will be able to witness this natural wonder and watch nature take its course. Tracing the great migration you might even move towards the Lobo valley. Late evening you will be driven back to the camp for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 5 : North Serengeti to Central Serengeti

After Breakfast you will have a half day game drives in Northern Serengeti then you will head south towards the central serengeti. The 3 Hr drive to the centre will offer mild en-route game. The drive south from the Mara river valley takes you through hill country, the Lobo area, woodlands and then back into the Seronera terrain. The central portion of the Serengeti - known as Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.

As you make your way into the Seronera region, you will begin to notice the hilly and broken terrain altering into plain grasslands. In Seronera one must really look out for the many lion prides that thrive in this region. The interactions and survival of these lion prides provide an excellent game viewing experience all year round. A picnic lunch will be done during the day long drive itself. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation. The next day you will head towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 6: North Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After Breakfast at the camp you will be heading to game drives in northern Serengeti. In the months between mid-june to September the migration can be found in this region. From mid-June to September, the Mara River in this region offers the most dramatic river crossing of the great migration. Fierce, deep and heavily rain fed the river takes an enormous toll on the migrating wildebeest. Watching the wildebeest surging through the torrential flow, some drowning and a few falling prey to lurking crocodiles is an unforgettable sight.

If it’s your lucky day you will be able to witness this natural wonder and watch nature take its course. Tracing the great migration you might even move towards the Lobo valley. The pristine lobo valley is scattered with woodlands, plains, hills and famous granite Kopjes. It offers enormous amount of big cat game with lions, leopards and cheetah in plenty. During the dry season the permanent water sources in the valley attract plenty of resident and migratory animals, resulting in excellent game viewing. During the full day game drive, you will have a stop where you can have your picnic lunch. After lunch you will be driven towards Ngorongoro conservation area via Central Serengeti .The day comes to an end with a tasty dinner and a good rest in your choice of accommodation.

Day 7: Safari in Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu

Get up Earlier in the morning around 6:00am for Breakfast then descend to the crater floor for game drive. You can expect to see lions, elephants, Zebras, Hippos, Flamingos, Jackals, Rhinos Antelopes and many birds. The birds seen here include eagle, vulture, and flamingos in the Crater Lake, stork, bats, giant vulture, sacred ibis, kori bustard, blacksmith plover, long necked heron and the cattle eagle. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. With a 2hr drive left to Karatu the day will come to a close, late afternoon you will be driven to Farm of Deams Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 8: Game Drive in Lake Manyara National Park and Drive to Arusha

The last day of your safari starts at 7:30 AM after breakfast. Then you will departs for Lake Manyara National Park where you will have a half day game drive, lush forests of Acacia and Mahogany trees begin to set the mood for what is waiting ahead. The game drive will go on till mid-afternoon with a small break for a picnic lunch. During the game drive watch out for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons and the blue monkeys. Another spectacle of the Lake Manyara National park is the tree climbing lions, however spotting them is a game of luck. In the right season, you can see the shoreline turning pink with millions of flamingos flocking there. After Lunch at the Picnic site in Lake Manyara National park you will be heading back to Arusha where you will droped off at Arusha airport or your accommodation in Arusha
